June is here- bringing on our annual BBQ. It was a beautiful and hot summer day- and the crowd was a good one. Luke is the usual grill Master, and I man the sides. Although, I must admit, Miss Mindy has always been so helpful- she knows where everything is in my kitchen, and is always much appreciated.
As I was preparing the grill and patio for cooking, Maddie noticed our hose coiled up on the back porch, and right away determined that due to the heat, it would be a good idea to put on her bathing suit, and play in the water. Once the next batch of guests arrived...

She found a playmate.
Due to the heat- we had some indoor traffic as well- thank goodness Luke installed an AC unit a few days earlier. Just in time to beat the forecasted week in the 90's..
Jason and Luke- acting like, well.. Jason and Luke.
Grandma Egger, Luke and our niece Sophie- lovingly referred to as 'scooter', as she chose scooting as her version of crawling- it's adorable, and now she is on the verge of walking.

Our nephew Jake- also enjoying the cold water from the hose.
Everyone took their turn as the squirter or squirtee...
some chose not to get soaked with ice cold well water- and instead eat icy cold Popsicles. (Adults included).
As with all games, sometimes it's fair, and sometimes it's just not.
Grandpa Egger and Sophie.
OK, now this is one of my favorite pictures ever. Lyon, father of both the boys pictured (Jory on the left, Gunnar, in the pull-up)... Lyon is the stern looking squirter, as Jory looks on, watching his younger brother run- this captures Gunnar mid-air, with a priceless 'running from Daddy' look on his face. It reminds me of my own childhood.

Kim and Sophie, enjoying their place in the audience of dry guests.
I also LOVE this shot, it captures our niece Elana,
lurking in the ivy :)
She is the only girl, among five brothers, and no other girls her age to hang out with in the family, not even on the Egger side. A terrible bout with allergies didn't help the matter;
She was under the weather.
I don't think she'd rate the BBQ as one of her favorite events of the year.
Luke shows off his swollen eyeball, ridden with allergens of an unknown type. This is the same symptom that was also plaguing Elana- not fun.
Me and baby Vinny.

Miss Mindy- fabulous, as always.
Jason and Molly chillin' on the patio.
Josh- who was the photographer of almost all of these pictures.
Hostess with a baby had too little time.
Jory and Kori found a way to have fun without water- using my exercise ball, and the slope of our yard..
this was scary to watch- but they were lovin' it.
Molly, Jason, and Lyon.
Me, and sister Tracy, who was looking beautiful as ever.
After a day of begging, Gunnar was finally allowed to hold baby Vinny.
and after six almost seven weeks, Mark finally braved holding his newest nephew..
what a day!
After a long day of grillin' and guests, we still think that he is still the most handsome baby ever.
